Each month, we invite a Guest Speaker to write and article about themselves or their organisation. When the month has passed, the article will then be available in the Archive Section: here
If there's an organisation or service you would like to know more about, please email: southbedsinfo@funkeemunkee.co.uk

Meet June's Guest Speaker
The Pasque Charity
Providing a special kind of care
The Pasque Charity provides both emotional and practical support for adults and children diagnosed with a life-limiting or terminal condition.
We run two hospice services. The Pasque Adult Hospice provides care for patients in South and Mid Bedfordshire and Keech Cottage Children’s Hospice service for children in Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Milton Keynes.
Care at the hospices focuses on helping patients enjoy the highest quality of life in the time they have left. We help patients to control their pain and other symptoms, offer psychological and spiritual support and help families and friends during the patient’s illness and into bereavement.
Operating this service costs £4 million a year, 75% of which needs to be raised through voluntary donations.
How you can help….
There are hundreds of ways the local community can support us in continuing to provide vital care and support to our patients and their families.
Here in South Bedfordshire,
Community Fundraiser Mark Relf, has plenty of ideas about
how people can get involved.
You can take part in one of our events like a sponsored cycle ride,
run or walk; clear out last season’s clothes and your
unwanted birthday presents and donate
them for sale in one of our shops, or,
if you’re 16 or over, volunteer your time to
lifeguard in our hydrotherapy pool
(we’ll give you all the necessary training you need).
Or is this more your style?
If you’ve got a head for heights,
feel the need for speed or just fancy doing something a little daring, and are over 16 then this is the perfect event for you! (you will need your parent or guardian to agree as well)
We are inviting daredevils to take the jump
of a lifetime and tandem skydive from 10,000 feet to raise funds for its adult and children’s hospice.
If none of these are for you, then why not organise your own
fundraising activity?
We have a whole list of A-Z ideas
and activities on our website.
Mark will be able to advise you on keeping it safe and legal -
so all you need to worry about
is having fun with your
friends and family.
Whatever you decide to do you’re sure to make a huge difference.
